By now Nasu had finally moved on from his time with the Karinga. It was a long time coming, perhaps some would even say it was long overdue given how much he had rested at their place. However it was not exactly just a matter of resting, the man demanded to pay them back for their kindness in carrying him around and healing his injuries. They did not have healers or anything like that, therefore it was a slow and expensive process, thankfully his Saiyan blood seemed to have done the better part of the process, so in the end he had pretty much made it out unscathed.
It did not look like his sword had been damaged either, so of course he was glad enough to say that the most important and only weapon he ever had was still together with him, and thus he left, after having received a parting gift; one of the blacksmiths in the nearby villages had offered him some replacements sturdy enough to potentially protect him in the future, and thus he left while looking extremely cool.
According to his own opinion at least, he enjoyed the look very much, especially the cape. Now that he was back in business, however, he wanted to get out there and get his hands dirty, to live life to the fullest. He was done being some wandering swordsman, he had to become strong, there was no other way around it. That was what led him to finding anything close to a little job, but it was not exactly something he could seek randomly in the city. That was until some random person finally introduced him to the internet.
He did not know what to do with it, but they let him browse some bulletin board where they requested the presence of a big dude, possessed with the strength to burn his way through any obstacles. Oh, that sounded just like him. Of course there were shady details in the offer, but they flew right past him, therefore he contacted them from the cafe and left to seek the place where they would rendezvous some days later before the job began.
It was inside what looked like to be an abandoned warehouse in a corner of North City, inside there laid two figures in particular. One looked like an average dude, loaded with arms, middle-aged, long hair and beard and the other looked like a total geek with nerdy glasses, quickly typing on the computer.
"Good morning. So, what do I do?"
And Nasu would greet them both when he entered inside, clueless and both of them would literally just stare at him in disbelief.
“Is that the… guy?”
The geek nodded quietly. While neither seemed to believe they had found someone that dressed so weird for the job, they did not exactly care. He looked big and strong enough, eventually the middle-aged man just sighed and sat away from his colleague before he motioned the Saiyan to also take a seat.
“Sit, dude. We’re waitin’ on another lad first.”

Training has been paying off recently. Maybe it was the sense of urgency Yakone gave her or the drive Moire sprung out of her to improve. Or maybe it was neither of these things. WHO knew? Inspiration came from the strangest places, and Casca wanted to believe it was the drive for battle and promise of recognition for her loyalty in the end that came out on top. For now, though, she traveled. Armed with the knowledge that she had to improve herself rapidly or face scrutiny from her superiors.
Casca didn't take too many jobs up North. The cold was too close to the base she holed herself up in to document her stay here. But when there came an easy job to take advantage of... Who was the faux Saiyan to argue? She got a tip from a local pub that something big was going to happen soon, and anyone worth their cut would get on it as soon as possible. That's where she got her in. Sure, it took beating up another bar resident gunning for the same spot after an argument but that was beside the point.
Being situated on the outskirts of North meant she could get by wearing a nice fur coat and proper sweats. She, in reality, didn't need to worry about biting cold, but her demon flame wasn't exactly public knowledge. Even her name wasn't. Going by Flare, she would be one of two that was hired for the work ahead. Her presence, if anyone could feel it, would be closing in. Eclipsing most other humans around her even with a careful restraint put on herself. A little pitiful, but nothing a good eventual change of law wouldn't fix.
This 'other lad' broached the scene as soon as the man mentioned it. Cracking open the swinging warehouse side door and absolutely glowing in the dim light the old place provided through windows. The carrot-top hair and red eyes were distinct and almost glowing in this low light. A moment is taken to give the three inside a quick lookover before waving.
"Is THIS the right dingey little warehouse, or did I get the wrong conspicuous meeting?" She'd smart off before sniffling, stuffing her hands back into her coat with a smirk. Two of them were run-of-the-mill humans by the looks of it. Older, younger. Different skill sets. But the first, tall guy? Built for battle and the characteristic Saiyan tail flowed loose under him. He didn't appear to possess any signs of the empire nor did he seem like the scouting type, so odds were this was some offworld-raised Saiyan. Perhaps even Earth-raised.
"It's Flare. Was told you guys needed tome muscle. And it looks like you're good at picking them." She gave Nasu a little side eye, a good bit smaller than him, standing at his side to await whatever proper instructions or whatever these two would be giving to them. Hopefully it was worth the trouble coming out here.

By far there were places for any job, but this was definitely the weirdest Nasu could imagine. There was not much if not dust, boxes and shelves that reached as high as the ceiling above them but there was hardly anything there to look for or move around. His first thought when he had reached this place was that perhaps it would have had something to do with the warehouse, maybe they would have had to move things around but he doubted this was really it unless they had to completely change this place. Perhaps give it a nice brush of paint and decorate it from scratch, but truthfully in the end he could only try and draw straws with his mental hand and hope he would get it right.
The details on the very job offer were not much if not that it required strong people. Strong was of course a generic word but Nasu believed he was strong in every sense of the word, definitely enough to at least deal with whatever they were looking to do over here. He did not bother to ask much, after all the internet was a very safe environment everyone could use and find things that they needed without any risk, right?
“Alright. Then I will… sit here, alright?”
He did not feel that comfortable sitting next to those two. One looked like he had already seen the twilight of his years, had not an ounce of passion and was pretty much infested with the wrinkles despite the fact he did not look that old and another looked like his son that was doing whatever with the laptop. Nasu tried to peek a little but all he saw were weird letters and numbers flying around the screen, very weird.
‘So you are the guy. Nasu. Is that a nickname?’
The man looked to face the eldest of the two, with a glimpse of confusion over his face. He did not know exactly what sort of issues he had with his name, but apparently he had chosen well to make a very bad first impression with Nasu, giving his very own name a regretful offense to the point where he assumed it was a nickname. He knew both of them were Earthlings but was it really too much to ask? Was he simply ignorant about Saiyans?
“No. It’s just that. Nasu.”
He responded and when he did either of them simply stayed silent and looked between each other, for a moment they were probably trying to figure out whether this guy was for real or not, did he really sign up for this with his real name? Nevertheless, it was none of their concern so long as he was actually willing to help them out, of course they were no veterans or experts, rather they could tell this man was packing some strength.
‘R-right, so we are waitin’ on another lad. They shoulda been here by now.’
It did not take long for this individual to show themselves however, clad in what felt like to be a burning presence and strength, the man recognized her nearly immediately as a Saiyan too. He was not sure if it was a matter of either instinct or scent, because if it came down to looks he would have pinned her down as an Earthling. Maybe she was one actually, but she gave a very fiery look that one could hardly find in the natives here. Therefore the man automatically assumed she had a little more interesting past than that, however he was also unsure what to say at first, if he was even meant to say anything.
“Flare.”
He repeated the name loudly enough for all to hear before he nodded and confidently smiled. He did not look away, rather he stared back into the blazing gaze and introduced himself properly.
“Nice to meet you. I am Nasu.”
The man returned an introduction short enough not to possibly make himself the center of it all, after all both of them had come here to work, so since now both of them were here it was possibly a good time to start, thus his attention moved over towards those two and expected them to say something first and potentially introduce them to their current duties. The two were silent at first before the older male stood up and handed both of them a few baseball bats.
‘You two grab your masks from the shelves, we are leaving.’
Masks? Nasu looked over to Flare, with a confused expression, perhaps in the hopes that she would have an idea of what the masks were even for, slowly but surely Nasu headed over to a shelf and with one hand he retrieved it. A dark mask with a few holes to breathe and look without the piece of fabric. Not only that but a baseball bat of all things, too. There was definitely something off.
Once the two of them left the warehouse, both Flare and Nasu could hear the sound of an engine, a van that had been parked nearby was moving closer to the entrance so that the two could head inside. Nasu did not hesitate, first, to learn towards Casca to express his concern.
“I am beginning to think that we should press on for details. This is weird. I expected some heavy work, and this is what we got. A mask and a stick.”
The man stopped a moment to look over the baseball bat before he released a sigh and just leaned it behind his neck horizontally, while he headed outside the warehouse himself, if he could not understand what kind of job this was, he would at least see it with his own ways. He had already begun to feel somewhat suspicious now, neither of those two discussed anything, so perhaps now one could expect the opposite. Now that they would be within the vehicle, all tight and stuck while traveling the road, then perhaps he could ask a few questions.
